HOLD YOUR TEMPER

Many people died because of anger. Anger ruin their lives because they can not hold their temper. We understand that being angry is one of our personality mood but letting the anger to rule over us beyond our capacity to control will result to our downfall as it do more harm to ourselves and to him we are dealing with.

Our emotion has 2 faces . It brings us good relieving us from stress inside us. The other is that it do more harm by inflicting pain to others. Let me cite you an example to some incidents I've known:

Scene 1
Bruno is a good father to his family. He relied his income being a tricycle driver, but he can still earn something for a living. His wife has no job and only finished high school when they got married. As he had other special skills who have knowledge in masonry, he able to apply a job to other country. This kind of skills is needed in building industry. Equipped all the requirements needed to work abroad under the condition of fly now, pay later, he departed on schedule together with other hired carpenters. He stayed there for 3 years, the contract he signed. He sent money every month to support his 3 small kids and wife. He missed his family very much. They communicated only in letters.

Relationship to his wife still good until something happened that cause his temper to explode. After 2 years, one of his neighbor who went home as his contract already expired and renewed told that his wife is doing an extra-ordinary work at home by seeing another man. His world go upside down, the money he give, all his efforts working abroad for them became useless. She wrote a letter asking his wife if it is true. his wife denied. But Bruno is now suspicious because she now seldom send a letter to him. She wrote only if she ask more money in the pretense that she urgently needed for the children.

He went home after the end of his contract without telling her. He stayed temporarily in the the house of his friend several kilometers away from where he lived. His purpose is to see it secretly about the bad news that reached him if it is really true.Without seeing his children, he do the spying in his house during the night. Several efforts he made until the time that he seen someone going to their house sneaking in the middle of the night. His heart beats fast. He was very angry. He gritted his teeth and furious. After several minutes, he slowly knock the door. The man is the one who opened it asking him what he wanted. His wife also came to see who the person talked by Jimmy. Then the battle begin. He boxed the man and by using a knife he killed him immediately including his wife caught unaware from the unexpected situation. His fury resulted him to be charged with murder in 2 counts.

Scene 2
In school, there were many minor fights occurred among students. One student was being insulted by his classmate in front of another female students. As he had a sudden outburst of his temper he boxed his classmate in the mouth removing his one tooth prompted their instructor to bring them to their guidance counselor for investigation. The incident cost him to be suspended for 1 month.

This 2 examples will show us how temper and sudden outburst can bring havoc to us if we cannot hold it. We will not allow ourselves to settle the score peacefully because hatred dominated us. We released all the venom of our anger destroying the life of other person and the lives of our family as well.

Holding our temper is not an easy task. It is very difficult to most of us because we let it to control us. This hostile feeling is always there hiding in us and when they time come that we let it to go out, the damage is devastating. Maybe that will be the time we understand the effect of our anger.

Control your anger before it controls you. Beware....
