Laugh more, live more
Everyone born to this earth, wants to be happy, healthy and be deeply loved. This is a universal desire but it is such an elusive one to achieve. Why? Because we have the unconscious tendency to take life so seriously while aspiring to fulfill this desire. That is the problem.
In this life, there is no escaping from all kinds of aggravations, at home, in our workplace, in the grocery stores, while driving, with the unpredictable weather and so on. The automatic reaction is to tense up and get upset. You become miserable and strangely, you almost want to be miserable. Why? Because you think that you have every right to be. Okay, but remember, do you really want your heart to pound fast or tighten up because you feel you have every reason to be angry or upset? Right there, what is going on inside your body and mind is the exact opposite of your desire to be happy, healthy and be loved.
If only we take notice of the potential damage seeping into our bodily system whenever we allow ourselves to linger in anger and bitterness. Many medical studies acknowledged the different rates in which patients recover; the cheerful ones heal faster than their pessimistic contemporaries. Simply put, those who laugh, laugh themselves to a healthier life. The serious type people see no relief in their suffering and as a consequence, they do suffer more and live less.
So we must laugh more to live more. In this world so commercialized, where almost everything has a steep price to maintain a healthy body and mind, why not resort to laughter and have mega doses of it. After all, laughter is indeed the best medicine and what's even amazing is that laughter is FREE.
No one can go wrong when you balance every anxious situation with a good sense of humor. Humor diffuses the intensity of any awkward or hideous situation. Cultivate your sense of humor to the fullest as this could just be what you need to build a happy, healthy and much loved you.
How could you effectively maintain a great sense of humor? First, be quick to react with a smile, or better still with a sincere laugh if something is amusing. Every now and then, treat yourself to a funny movie or show and remember laugh to your heart's content. Again the more you laugh, the more your heart will be restful and will reward you with added years. Sounds so simple and easy. Yes, in fact it takes less effort to laugh than to frown. Frowning can even create wrinkles when it becomes a habit. So who wants that? No one who values his or her appearance would subject himself or herself to wrinkles voluntarily. Truth be told there is no benefit whatsoever with frowning.
But smiling and laughing bring about joy among your families and friends; boost your health and the health of others you meet. It is a beautiful cycle of how life should be lived. It is a happy life.
