Notes my Dad gave me about change! - Page 2 of 2

e. And surely enough, the 'DVD' player came along in place of the VCR and the mobile phone came along in place of the pager! These owners expected a change. Therefore they were ready for it. We have to learn to expect changes because Change is the only thing that will never change, so lets adapt to it! %u273A Develop an early warning system.
Frogs put in a vessel on the heater, realize and jump out of water if you increase the temperature suddenly. But they die if you increase the temperature slowly. Don't die slowly! Be aware of the changes around you.
%u273A Always look at the opportunities that change represent.
A year back when I had to leave Dubai where I had spent 10 years, I felt I was leaving a comfortable life and my old friends behind. But when I came here I immersed myself in spending more time with my Avo who passed away 10 months later. Now I cherish those precious moments.
%u273A Do not allow routines to chain you! Break away from a routine life. Sometimes it can make you fat and comfortable, and as we know fat birds cannot fly. Be lean by trying different things. It will kill boredom and make life more interesting!

%u273A Realize that fear of the unknown is natural. Be prepar
ed to test the waters. Even the Red Indians were hesitant to wear shoes when the 'Pale skins' landed on their shores wearing them. Take the fearlessness of children as an inspiration. Once there was a little girl who was busy drawing something, when the curious teacher asked her what it was. And the girl replied 'I am drawing God'. 'But', the teacher replied, no one knows what God looks like, to which there was a quick answer, a'They will know soon after I have completed my drawing!' %u273A Surround yourself to people who are open to change. Sort out friends and relatives who are encouraging and supportive. Confused, disoriented, discouraging people will only make matters worse! %u273A Play to win. Stretch yourself! With Change come opportunities. Grab them to test and discover yourself. Sometimes people will try to put you down. Rise up like the Donkey. One day a trader wanted to get rid of his donkey. So he decided to put him in a well. He lowered the donkey in the well and hoped he would die there. Soon the stubborn donkey started crying aloud. The owner shoveled dirt into the well hoping to bury him. But our stubborn donkey again showed his persistence by shrugging off the dust, and standing on it. In this way he managed to rise up to the top of the well, step out and walk away!! Throw off life's dirt and rise!
