Taking the Initiave to Improving Your Life

1) Make looking beyond your own perspective a habit – The key to quality relationships is seeing outside of whatever your "box" is. We are greatly influenced and have our belief system shaped by what our personal experience has been. This places us at the mercy of the limitations of our personal exposure. Being willing to look beyond that enhances communication between people. Instead of their diversity dividing them, it expands them and contributes to a common end. When you can place your emotional responses in queue to listen and feel what another is saying, you can agree even in disagreement.

- "If I can listen to what he tells me, if I can understand how it seems to him, if I can sense the emotional flavor which it has for him then I will be releasing potent forces of change within him" - Carl Rogers

-"Empathy is the ability to share other people's feelings, to see things even if you don't agree with them, from their point of view. This is virtually all phases of human interaction and extremely important in any large organization. You can't underestimate the need to handle interpersonal relations well and empathy is the quality that counts most in that.

- G J Tankersley

2) Take FULL responsibility for your life choices – You cannot move forward with your life without accepting the part that you played in your life story. Right or wrong, good or bad this is your life and you are the big cheese! Excuses for why you aren't responsible will keep you from building your self image. It encourages a victim mentally which would rather remain and continue to be hurt than begin the healing process and move on. Once you realize that this is your story, then you can change things to work in your favor no matter what is in your past. Taking responsibility is not the same as playing the "blame game." Blame has nothing to do with identifying limiting beliefs that led to limiting actions that created a life that is limited from reaching its highest potential. People who are ready to step up to the plate and take responsibility for their choices have put themselves in a position where they have the ability to respond to areas of their life that needs change.

It all starts with purpose! Once you purpose in your heart to live your best life, it initiates the use of gifts, talents, and creativity in the direction of your fulfillment and abundance! Get into the game and play to win and watch as you become motivated to succeed, inspired to change, and released to prosper!
