The Big Picture

The Big Picture

Any time we put all of our focus on what we are presently going through, we lose sight of the"the big picture" and the benefit it has on our lives. This is the opportunity to see things on a larger scale; a more appropriate scale to you moving in the direction of your destiny. It gives you the proper perspective. (The proper perspective would be any view that supports you in growing and fulfilling your life goals.) There is a perspective that creates a mindset that has led to where you are; and there is a perspective that creates a mindset that takes you where you want to go. Keeping a big picture perspective keeps the challenges of the day from becoming insurmountable! How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! How do you win and have a favorable outcome in the challenges of your life; one thought at a time! What this means for us practically is that we see the challenges in our life as just that; challenges! They are not there to be some ubiquitous sign that success in any area is beyond our grasp! Resist the urge to think that some people are "built for success" and some are not and that you, inevitably, are a part of the group that is not. You never know what type of thoughts your mind will produce when it is full of anxiety and intense emotion. You should know; however, that the types of thoughts that it produces will determine your ability to overcome difficulties or live with the adverse effects of them. I want to help you to gain and maintain the big picture mentality and change the course of your life for the better! The following are what I call "success suggestions" and they are designed to give you a favorable outcome in every area of your life:

SUCCESS SUGGESTIONS:

1) Calm down – It is not as bad as it seems. Stop yourself from reacting and start pre-acting! Sometimes the emotional nature of the situation will provoke you to c
ounter with an equally emotional reaction. This is an open door for similar thoughts to come and rob you of your ability to find a peaceful solution. When you pre-act, you consider a more calm and disciplined approach towards conflict resolution. Believe that as long as you stay positive and reasonable, you are going to find an amicable solution and things will certainly work out for you.

2) Consider what you CAN do – Moping around and feeling helpless is not going to work. Think about your situation in a way that you feel empowered. There is always something that you can do even of it's to think about things from a different vantage point. Don't become preoccupied with what seems impossible about your situation. Talk to people, research materials, ask questions that pertain to whatever you are dealing with. When you talk about it, the context is solution oriented and not re-feasting off of the negative emotions of it. As you look, positive things will start catching your attention.

3) Believe that things are going work for your good – There are forces beyond our ability to directly control. Believe that they are working for you instead of against you. Develop the expectation that things are going to work out; it is a learning experience. On the other end of this is a lesson that you will need for the next level. When you have a positive outlook then your mind produces positive thoughts. How you feel about a situation is a direct result of the thoughts that you think about it. If you believe that it is somehow going to work out for you, then the thoughts that you think will cause you to feel better about it. This provokes a solution oriented, proactive, positive attitude which attracts the answer to you problem.

A big picture mentality is like a breath of fresh air. It gives you the ability to refocus and reexamine what you are dealing with and approach it in a way that encourages instead of discourages.
